Tura, September 24 : A Free Health Camp under the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar (SNSP) Abhiyaan was organised at the Dadenggre Community Health Centre, West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya. The camp was conducted in collaboration with the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Dadenggre ICDS Project, Tura Civil Hospital, Christian Hospital Tura, National Health Mission Tura, DPM (MHIS) Tura, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABHA) Tura and the Tuberculosis Hospital Tura. The initiative was aimed at strengthening healthcare outreach, promoting preventive health practices, and ensuring access to specialist medical services for the people of Dadenggre Block.
A large number of people from different villages under Dadenggre Block, especially mothers, children, and elders, availed the facilities provided during the camp. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the doctors, medical teams, and the Governments of India and Meghalaya for ensuring access to free healthcare services.
Speaking on the occasion of Poshan Maah, Pancha Baida, CDPO, Dadenggre ICDS Project, highlighted the ill effects of obesity, stating that it leads to multiple health complications including high blood pressure and stroke. Dr. Icylia Sangma, Medical Officer, ARTC, Tura Civil Hospital, addressed the gathering on the spread of HIV/AIDS, noting the risks associated with drug use, multiple sexual partners, and migration. Jangme Ritha B. Marak, Supervisor, ICDS Dadenggre, also demonstrated the importance of consuming fresh vegetables, fruits, and supplementary nutrition to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The camp was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Dr. T. Sangma, Medical and Health Officer, Dadenggre CHC. Healthcare facilities made available during the camp included General Medicine, ENT, Dermatology, Dentistry, Eye Clinic, Anti-Natal Clinic (ANC), Gynaecology, Tuberculosis screening, NCD screening, Ultrasonography (USG), counseling on adolescent health and enrolment services under MHIS-PMJAY and ABHA.
These Special Health Camps, organised as part of the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, will continue till October 2, 2025 across the state.
