Shillong, September 29 : The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier has been awarded the Rajbhasha Shield 2024–25, securing second position nationally for outstanding performance in the promotion and use of Rajbhasha Hindi. The award was presented at the BSF Headquarters in New Delhi, where Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary, IPS, felicitated the Meghalaya Frontier. O.P. Upadhyay, Inspector General (IG), Meghalaya Frontier, received the prestigious honor on behalf of the unit.
Under the dynamic leadership of IG O.P. Upadhyay, BSF Meghalaya has made remarkable progress in promoting Hindi. Regular competitions, seminars, and training programs have helped strengthen the use of Hindi in official work and improved the language skills and confidence of BSF personnel.
Addressing the ceremony, the BSF Director General said, “The extensive use of Hindi in official work strengthens our cultural identity,” and urged all officers and personnel to make Hindi an inseparable part of daily administration.
This national recognition stands as a symbol of pride not only for BSF Meghalaya Frontier but also for the entire Border Security Force, showcasing its unwavering commitment to India’s national language.
