Shillong, January 15 : The Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Meghalaya, Shillong, on Tuesday launched the Online Pension Application Module, a new digital facility integrated with the existing e-Pension portal.
The module was inaugurated by L. Hangsing, Principal Accountant General (A&E), Meghalaya, in the presence of Swapnil Tembe, Secretary (Finance–Pension), Government of Meghalaya; B. L. Nonglait, Director of Accounts & Treasuries; Benos Lyngskor, Scientist (F), NIC, Shillong, along with other dignitaries.
Speaking at the launch, L. Hangsing described the module as a major milestone in the department’s digital transformation efforts aimed at achieving end-to-end digitisation of the pension process. He noted that the new system is expected to improve transparency, reduce paperwork, minimize processing delays, and offer a seamless experience for pension applicants.
Swapnil Tembe commended the initiative and assured full support from the Government of Meghalaya for its smooth implementation and widespread adoption.
The Online Pension Application Module allows State Government employees, All India Service (AIS) officers, and eligible family members of deceased employees to submit pension applications remotely at any time through a secure, user-friendly digital interface.
The key features of the module include online submission of pension forms, digital uploading of documents, real-time tracking of application status, and faster processing of pension cases.
