BJP MAHILA MORCHA MEGHALAYA THANKS MODIJI, PARLIAMENT FOR PASSING WOMEN’S RESERVATION BILL

Shillong, September 22 : The BJP Mahila Morcha Meghalaya has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all the members of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha for voting in favor of the Women’s Reservation Bill.

In a statement, the Mahila Morcha said that the BJP was the only party that had the courage and determination to get the Bill passed in both the houses, with unanimous support from all quarters.

“The BJP puts its money where its mouth is,” the statement said.

The Mahila Morcha also hit out at the TMC Spokesperson Ripun Bora for his statement that the BJP did not care about tribals.

“Smti Droupadi Murmu, a tribal, has been elected as the President of the Country, proposed and supported by the BJP,” the statement said.

The Mahila Morcha’s statement comes after the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha passed the Women’s Reservation Bill, which will reserve 33% of seats in Parliament and state legislatures for women.

The Bill has been a long-pending demand of women’s rights activists, and its passage is a major victory for the cause of gender equality in India.
