Shillong, July 3 : The High Court of Meghalaya has condemned the respondents for playing fast and loose with the court in a case involving the Harijan Panchayat Committee.
The court said that it appeared the respondents were “playing fast and loose both with the government and with the court.” It said that a false impression had been given to the court on the last occasion that a minor matter had to be attended to, but a subsequent statement had been made that the court had misinterpreted the submission.
The court said that it looked forward to the government taking immediate appropriate action to bring the matter to a close. The matter will appear again on July 18, 2023, for the government to report on the progress made.
