Shillong, October 16 : The Indian Air Force (IAF) will hold an air show at Umiam Lake, Shillong on October 20, 2023, as part of its 91st anniversary celebrations. The air show will be organized by Headquarters Eastern Air Command and will feature a flypast by ALH & Chinook helicopters, Dornier transport aircraft, SU-30 & Rafale fighter jets.
The aircraft will carry out formation flying and other extraordinary aerial maneuvers demonstrating exceptional flying skills and professionalism. The grand finale of the air show will be the helicopter formation flying display by the Sarang Helicopter Display Team, which is acknowledged as one of the best helicopter display teams in the world.
The air show is planned on October 20, 2023, and the Full Dress Rehearsal (FDR) will be conducted on October 17, 2023, from 9.15 am.
The air show is a welcome event and will be a great opportunity for the people of Shillong and Meghalaya to see the IAF’s capabilities up close. It is also a good opportunity to promote public awareness about the IAF and its role in national security.
