Shillong, June 10: The Government of Meghalaya, in collaboration with the Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) and Build India, will host the North East India Infrastructure Summit and Exhibition (NEIINFRA) 2026 on June 15 and 16 at the Lariti Performing Centre, Mawkasiang, Shillong.
The summit, announced during a press conference in Shillong on Wednesday, is expected to be one of the largest infrastructure-focused gatherings ever held in the Northeast, bringing together representatives from all eight Northeastern states, eight Union Ministries, more than 800 delegates, and over 60 national-level exhibitors.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the summit as the Chief Guest, while Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma will attend as the Guest of Honour. The event will witness participation from the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, alongside senior officials from key Union Ministries and major stakeholders in the infrastructure sector.
Chairman of the Organising Committee, Sanjay Goyal, IAS, said the summit would serve as a premier platform for policy discussions, investment promotion, business networking and knowledge sharing. He emphasized that the future of infrastructure development rests on the pillars of people, prosperity and planning, and called for collective efforts to build a stronger and better-connected Northeast.
FINER President Bajrang Lohia said the summit aims to shape the future of infrastructure development in the region by fostering collaboration, encouraging investments and promoting sustainable economic growth and connectivity. According to organisers, the two-day event will bring together over 300 senior government officials, industry leaders, investors, infrastructure developers, public sector undertakings, entrepreneurs and development stakeholders from across the country.
FINER Vice President Rajeev Agarwal expressed confidence that the summit would help unlock new opportunities, strengthen public-private partnerships and accelerate sustainable regional development. The participating ministries will include Road Transport and Highways, Civil Aviation, Commerce and Industry, DPIIT, Communications, Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Food Processing Industries, Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Tourism and other key infrastructure-related departments.
The summit will feature more than eight thematic sessions, high-level discussions, networking opportunities and a large-scale exhibition showcasing emerging technologies, innovative solutions, MSMEs and startups. Key sectors to be highlighted include roads and highways, tourism infrastructure, industrial infrastructure, digital infrastructure, aviation and airports, as well as ports and waterways. Several Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of Northeastern states, senior policymakers, industry experts and business leaders are expected to attend the event. Knowledge partners for the summit include Indian Institute of Management Shillong, HVS Anarock and Invest India, which will contribute sectoral research and knowledge papers for the event.
