Shillong, September 25: Rikman Momin on Monday was appointed as the new State President of BJP Meghalaya State Unit after the term of the incumbent State President Ernest Mawrie was over. This was informed by the National General Secretary & Headquarter Incharge of BJP Arun Singh in the organizational appointment.
Jagat Prakash Nadda, BJP National President, has tasked Rikman Momin to fulfill the duties as the State President of Meghalaya as per their official statement.
The statement further stressed that the appointment is immediate.
Momin was also the BJP National Council Member and contested MP Election 2019 from Tura Parliamentary Constituency as party candidate.
This is a historic moment for the BJP Meghalaya State Unit, marking the first time that the position of State President is held by a representative from the Garo Hills.
