SENG KHASI AMONGST 33 OTHER WORLD ELDERS PARTICIPATED IN THE 8TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE.

Shillong, January 29 : The 8th International Conference of World Elders, hosted by International Centre for Cultural Studies (ICCS) in Dibrugarh, Assam from January 28th to February 1st, 2024 promotes cross-cultural collaboration among spiritual leaders and elders to explore “Shared Sustainable Prosperity.” With 300 attendees from 33+ countries, the event bridges ancient wisdom with modern challenges for global harmony.

The elders of Seng Khasi had the honor of participating in the Conference where they engaged with elders from various countries representing indigenous faiths. Furthermore, they had the opportunity to highlight the distinct identity of the Khasi community through a captivating performance of the traditional warrior dance “Ka Shad Thma” by the youths of Seng Khasi Kmie.

The Seng Khasi Community holds the belief of “One Truth, Many Ways,” emphasizing diverse perspectives. Safeguarding their culture and traditions involves preserving oral history, rituals, and fostering mutual respect for different paths within their indigenous identity.
