Police Investigate Threat Poster in Tura Claiming ISIS-K Link; Public Urged to Remain Calm

Tura, January 28 : The West Garo Hills District Police have launched an investigation after a threatening poster, allegedly bearing the insignia of ISIS-K and warning the Garo community to “vacate land before 2027,” was found pasted on an electric pole near Law College, Araimile, Tura.

According to police reports, the poster, titled “Warning to Garos,” mentioned several localities including Phulbari, Rajabala, Tikrikilla, Selsella, Garobadha, and Tura, and carried the name “Aminur Islam – Plain Belt Area Commander (ISIS-K)”. The district police have urged residents not to panic or spread unverified information on social media. Authorities warned that any attempt to incite communal disharmony will be dealt with firmly under relevant sections of law.
