Shillong, February 23 : The Government of India has appointed Jim R. Marwein from the Non-State Civil Service of Meghalaya to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) under the Select List of 2024.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training), the appointment has been made under the relevant provisions of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954 and the IAS (Appointment by Selection) Regulations, 1997.
Marwein has been appointed against vacancies that arose between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024. He will be on probation until further orders and has been allocated to the Assam-Meghalaya Joint Cadre under the IAS (Cadre) Rules, 1954.
Born on November 17, 1972, Marwein’s induction into the IAS marks a significant milestone in his administrative career.
The notification was issued by the Department of Personnel & Training on February 17, 2026.
