Shillong, August 11 : The Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration Department has informed that the dignitaries who will hoist the National Flag and take salute at the ceremonial parade on the Independence Day on 15th August, 2023 in the District Headquarters include Conrad K. Sangma, Chief Minister at Shillong, Paul Lyngdoh, Minister at Nongstoin, Kyrmen Shylla, Minister at Nongpoh, Sniawbhalang Dhar, Deputy Chief Minister at Jowai, Thomas A. Sangma, Speaker, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly at Tura, Marcuise N. Marak, Minister at Williamnagar, Rakkam A. Sangma, Minister at Baghmara, Comingone Ymbon, Minister at Resubelpara, A. L. Hek, Minister at Mawkyrwat, A. T. Mondal, Minister at Ampati, Dr. M. Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister at Khliehriat and Shakliar Warjri, Minister at Mairang.
In Civil Sub-Divisions Headquarters, Timothy D. Shira, Deputy Speaker, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will hoist the National Flag and take salute at the ceremonial parade at Sohra, Lahkmen Rymbui, MLA at Amlarem, Sanjay Sangma, MLA at Dadenggre, Gavin Mylliem, MLA at Pynursla, Sengchim N. Sangma, MLA at Chokpot, Limison D. Sangma, MLA at Raksamgre, Methodius Dkhar, MLA at Mawshynrut, Pius Marwein, MLA at Ranikor, Sosthenes Sohtun, MLA at Patharkhmah, Jim M. Sangma, MLA at Rongjeng, Ian Botham K. Sangma, MLA at Jengjal and Brening A. Sangma, MLA at Dalu.
In Hima Shangpung, Laskein C&RD Block, Santa Mary Shylla, MLA will hoist the National Flag and take salute at the ceremonial parade.
The Independence Day celebrations will be held across the state with flag hoisting ceremonies, cultural programs, and other patriotic events. The government has urged all citizens to join the celebrations and pay tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country.
